Happy Thanksgiving from measureQuick!

As we head into the holiday season, I want to take a moment to share something personal and offer my sincere thanks.

This year, I am especially grateful to have received a clean bill of health after my cancer diagnosis. It feels good to be getting back to myself, to be back in the saddle, and to be looking forward to traveling again to see customers, partners, and friends. Your thoughts, support, and especially your prayers meant more than I can put into words. It's been too long.

We are incredibly thankful for all of you: our loyal customers who have been with us from the beginning, and those who have joined us more recently. measureQuick has grown because of your trust, feedback, and commitment to doing things the right way.

We are also grateful to be living in a time when tools like AI have the potential to solve some of the biggest challenges in our industry, while also recognizing that, unless we're careful and intentional, they can create new ones too. Your partnership helps us guide that future in the right direction.

I'm thankful for our team here at measureQuick. Over the past seven years, they have poured their hearts, minds, and energy into building something meaningful, something that is helping technicians grow faster, contractors operate smarter, and systems perform better.

And finally, we're thankful for the gifts we often take for granted: life, liberty, and the freedoms we enjoy.

Heat Pump Summit Takeaway: Overcoming Winter Physics


At the 2025 Heat Pump Summit in Worcester, MA, Joe Medosch delivered one of the most talked-about sessions: why it's near impossible commission a heat pump when it's freezing outside.

The issue isn't equipment limitations. It's physics. When outdoor temperatures drop below 30°F, moisture becomes nearly impossible to remove from the system. Cold copper acts as a moisture magnet, and any humidity that condenses inside the lines can freeze. Once frozen, moisture doesn't evaporate—it sublimates, a process that takes hours instead of minutes.

Without sufficient pressure differential across the metering device (about 160 psi for proper TXV control), the valve stays wide open and acts like a fixed orifice. That's when callbacks start.
