The Measurement That Changes Everything: Static Pressure

Airflow is the vehicle that delivers heating and cooling to every room in a home, and static pressure is the single best indicator of whether that vehicle is running properly. That is why measureQuick's partnership with National Comfort Institute (NCI) continues to be one of the most important relationships in the platform's ecosystem. NCI has spent more than 30 years training the industry to treat airflow with the same rigor as refrigerant charge, and the AirMaxx quick tests built into measureQuick are a direct result of that collaboration.

In his latest guest post, NCI instructor Adam Mufich breaks down the five static pressure measurements every technician should capture on a service call, explains where most techs go wrong with probe placement and math, and walks through how the free NCI quick tests in measureQuick turn raw pressure data into a visual diagnostic report. Whether the goal is catching duct deficiencies before they become callbacks or presenting Air Upgrade opportunities that increase ticket value, static pressure screening is the fastest way to start.

The Right Manometer Makes the Difference

Static pressure testing is only as good as the instrument behind it. Jim Bergmann recently sat down to cover the full landscape of manometers that work with measureQuick, from single-port field units to the high-resolution TEC DG-8, and explained what matters most: resolution, accuracy, drift, zeroing, and probe positioning.

  • Not all manometers are created equal. Resolution determines whether a reading is reliable to the tenths or hundredths of an inch of water column.
  • Zeroing before every test is non-negotiable. A manometer that is not zeroed at the position it will be used in will introduce error into every measurement that follows.
  • Dual-port Bluetooth manometers paired with measureQuick allow supply and return diagnostics to be evaluated independently, pinpointing which side of the system has a restriction.
  • Choosing the right manometer for the application saves time and money. A $150 unit handles gas pressure and static pressure. Airflow testing with a TrueFlow Grid requires the precision of a DG-8.

New Training Videos

Live Data Streaming with Test Tracker

Live Data Streaming with Test Tracker

Service managers shouldn't rely on phone calls to know what is happening on a job. Val walks through how managers can view a technician's measurements in real time from the office, with both sides operating independently.

Integrating Housecall Pro with measureQuick

Integrating Housecall Pro with measureQuick

Companies running Housecall Pro can now connect it directly to measureQuick Cloud. Val walks through the full setup: enabling the app, configuring job statuses, matching users, and syncing customer info, photos, and reports automatically. Less double entry means more time on the job.

Integrating ServiceTitan with measureQuick

Integrating ServiceTitan with measureQuick

For ServiceTitan shops, this step-by-step guide covers everything from obtaining a tenant ID to configuring job statuses, matching users, and setting up automatic photo and report syncing. Whether the integration is brand new or needs troubleshooting, this video has the full walkthrough.

New Integration: Seitron Be Cool Evo M4S and Temp Clamps

Jim walks through the Seitron Be Cool Evo M4S: a 4-way digital manifold with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, Bluetooth 5.0, and direct measureQuick integration. Auto-connecting wireless temperature clamps map all four probe points the moment they connect.

How Air Doctors Uses measureQuick Daily

Air Doctors runs 20 trucks in metro Detroit and tracks every reading on every call. Brynn Cooksey covers Test Tracker, letter-grade scoring, and delivered BTU data as a sales tool. Office manager Melissa walks through her end-of-day QA process. Their callback rate dropped from 3-4% to half a percent.
